In the world of blogging, you can find any opinion you want on almost any subject you can imagine; from Chinese Hamburger to Celebrity Gossip. You can find people to agree with and people to argue with. The internet delivers it all, right to your desktop.
While in the U.S. Army, I learned a thing or two about opinions. Namely, opinions are like rear-ends; everybody has one and mine smells better than yours (think on that a while).
I believe we live in a post-modern culture, desparately searching for relavance. Unfortunately, our search for relevance often leads to another word that starts with "R": Ridiculous. All around, in the midst of instant-gratification-ME-generation madness, I see silliness. If you take the issue away from the emotion and passion, you too can see the silliness.
In the 20th Century, we made unimaginable technical advances. In the 21st Century, we have made such earth-shattering discoveries as MEN AND WOMEN ARE DIFFERENT. At the same time, we have people demanding Gender Neutral Bathrooms. Every area of life is affected. You can find ridiculousness in politics, religion, education, entertainment, news, sports, weather, and food. You can't escape it.
My one line bio says, "Some people view the world through rose colored glasses, I see it through x-ray goggles." I don't mean to imply I am looking under your clothes (nice underwear by the way) but that I see past the inflated seriousness of the situation and what I see is funny, often tragically so.
I know that there are a lot of decisions in life that have to be taken seriously, and if you do not have enough seriousness, severity, and tragedy in your life, then carry on. If, however, you just want to lighten your mood and laugh at yourself (and maybe a pet issue or two) then take a look around and have fun.
