I remember back when we used to speak of "unrest" in the Middle East and North Africa. Today, with conflict in Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Egypt, Syria, Yemen, and Libya (not to mention Morocco, Algeria, Bahrain, Tunisia, Sudan, Jordan, Palestine, and Lebanon), we can look back nostalgically and only wish for "periods of unrest." It seems that our president is out of his league. Unable to mearly vote "present" on these issues, he is taking the opposite approach--absence. While he is away in Brazil, presumably getting waxed, our allies in the Middle East are on the verge of getting waxed as well, but in a completely different way.
With Middle Eastern chaos at an all time high, we need a leader who can lead. Instead, we have an ideologically biased hipocrite who is in Latin America promoting offshore drilling while simultaneously stonewalling U.S. attempts to open more drilling sites.
As the world stage goes from bad to worse, so also we see the leadership and influence of the most powerfull man on earth go from bad to worse. He needs to put a halt on his world travels and get serious about leading this country.
