We watched "Everybody's Fine" last week and they lied. Everybody is NOT fine. Everybody is lying about being fine. To be fair, if everybody had been fine, the movie would have been horribly boring. At least in their "not fine" state, we could have had some kind of climactic moment to steer everybody on the road to being fine. Instead, we get a delusional dream and a heart attack. It could have been called:
Everybody is completely screwed up
Everybody's a wreck
(and not in a funny way)
It was like an hour and a half of misery and 10 minutes of fine. So, of course, I loved it. No, actually, I tolerated it. I would rather look at my own reflection in a spoon than see this movie again.
