THE DEMOCRAT'S DAN QUAYLE

Portland — “I see dead people”….“On this Memorial Day, as our nation honors its unbroken line of fallen heroes — and I see many of them in the audience here today — our sense of patriotism is particularly strong.”- Barack Obama
“What did you do in the war daddy?”….
"I had an uncle who was ... part of the first American troops to go into Auschwitz and liberate the concentration camps," Obama said. One small problem; the former Soviet Union liberated Auschwitz January 27th 1945, not the American 89th Infantry Division that Obama’s great uncle was a member of. Auschwitz is in Poland, not Germany and in January, 1945, America was still involved in the Battle of the Bulge.
“Where am I?”….
Obama to Sunrise, FL: “How’s it going, Sunshine?…It’s good to be in Sunshine!”
Maybe he meant Mad Magazine…
Obama, in his memoir, Dreams of My Father, writes of a story in Life magazine that influenced him -- about a black man trying to bleach his skin white. No such article could be found in Life or Ebony.
“Do you march here often?”…
Marking the anniversary of the March 1965 "Bloody Sunday" in Selma, Ala., Obama, speaking at a church, said his parents got together "because of what happened in Selma." Obama was born in 1961.
“Did I say “dead”, I meant to say “fed”…
“And just in case you missed it, this week, this week there was a tragedy in Kansas. Ten thousand people dead.”- Barack Obama, from a speech he made in May of 2007. Actually, 11 people were tragically killed in that tornado.
"It’s all Greek to me"….
"We only have a certain number of them (translators) and if they are all in Iraq, then its harder for us to use them in Afghanistan," Obama said. Obama posited -- incorrectly -- that Arabic translators deployed in Iraq are needed in Afghanistan – forgetting that Afghans don't speak Arabic.
“What year is this anyways?”….
“Since the Bush Administration launched a misguided war in Iraq, its policy in the Americas has been negligent toward our friends, ineffective with our adversaries, disinterested in the challenges that matter in peoples' lives, and incapable of advancing our interests in the region.
No wonder, then, that demagogues like Hugo Chavez have stepped into this vacuum.”- Barack Obama. Hugo Chavez came to power during the Clinton Administration, and was first elected President of Venezuela in 1998, two years before the Bush Administration took office.
“I have a feeling we aren’t in Kansas anymore…by the way, where is Kansas?”…
"What it says is that I'm not very well known in that part of the country (Kentucky)," Obama said. "Sen. Clinton, I think, is much better known, coming from a nearby state of Arkansas. So it's not surprising that she would have an advantage in some of those states in the middle."
Trouble is, as a look at a US map (with territories) shows, Arkansas may be "nearby," but Obama's home state of Illinois is "adjacent"
Maybe old habits are hard to break…
In his book, Dreams From My Father, Obambi admitted his drug use when young: "Pot (marijuana) had helped, and booze; maybe a little blow (cocaine) when you could afford it. Not smack (heroin), though."
I found this post by Sam Minervino on myMaineToday.com.
After reading all of these Obamisms, I have to wonder why he gets a pass on every misstatement where other politicians are regularly called out on their mistakes.
George Bush was characterized as an idiot when he misspoke. Hillary Clinton was blasted for her inaccuracies. Sarah Palin has been demonized for writing a book with the AP sending 14 rabid journalists to fact-check her.
The above quotes, as well as his infamous "57 states" are politely passed over by the complicit Lame Stream Media.
Thanks, Sam, for compiling your list.
