To me, it is as though our generation was not told the truth about marriage. We were sold "Happily Ever After" instead of the reality of growth and change to learn to live with your mate.
Although the main thrust of the Mockazine blog is to have fun, the "But Seriously" side allows me to comment on important issues in my life and in our culture. One of the most important priorities in my life is my family. I have a wife and a son. In addition to my "safety" blogs, look for marriage and parenting blogs.
Listed below, find some of my favorite marriage and parenting resouces:
Weekend to Remember if you are married or getting married, check out this weekend workshop. They have tracts for both engagement and marriage. People on the verge of divorce have rescued their marriage with the help of this workshop. People in good marriages come out of the workshop in better marriages.
Family Life has podcasts, articles, books, and a slew of other resources. Yes, they put on the Weekend to Remember, but the quality of resources is so good, they deserve a second listing.
Wild At Heart was written by John Eldredge to help men recognize their purpose and how they should better relate to women. The book is a terrific read for men and women who wnat to understand men.
WebMD is like a medical information hub. Great resources, but they also have a lot of "professional" opinions. If you stick to the facts, you can learn a lot. If you get wrapped up in the rhetoric, your experience will be much less valuable.
Whether or not you like Focus on the Family, you will find fantastic resources for parenting, great books, activities, and movies for your kids, and solid, proven counseling for your other relationships as well.
Pregnant? This site will walk you through every phase. It is a SUPERIOR resource.
Troubled by an unplanned pregnancy? This resource will help you identify all of the options open to you and help you make a choice you wont regret.
